The goalkeeper truly is one of the special positions in the world of sports. Soccer goalkeepers today need to be effective with their keeper skills and they must also have the ability to read the game to support their backs andstart the attack. Whether a beginner, intermediate, or advanced keeper, our clinics will improve all of the techniques used in this unique position.
The Upper Ninety Goalkeeper program is really a 12 month improvement program beginning with our winter clinics.
Our wintersessions are designed with the "close range" skills of the keeper in mind including, foot speed, balance, agility, reflex /reaction saves. The basic catching, collapsing / diving techniques are taught and developed over the eight week sessions. Programs are offered for the beginner through to the high school keeper, looking to keep on top of his or her game.
The spring session includes "in season" topics such as, mid to long range shots, angle play, cutting off and handling crosses, and break aways. Defensive communicating skills are included in this eight week session.
Our summer programs include weekly group training and one week camps. We place keepers into groups with common areas of improvement or, maintenance needs.
The fall sessions offers a continuation of the "in season" topics.
New keepers, in general, it is best to begin your learning experience in the winter or summer sessions.
